Adverb 

It modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb.

Example; slowly, very, well.

Kinds of adverb

1)     adverbs of time, (which show when)

  1)     I have heard this before.

  2)     We shall now begin to work.

  3)     I had a letter from him lately.

  4)     He called here a few minutes ago.

2)     adverbs of frequency (which show how often)

  1)     I have told you twice.

  2)     He often makes mistakes.

  3)     He seldom comes here.

3)     Adverbs of place (which show where)

  1)     stand here.

  2)     He little lamb followed mary everywhere.

  3)     He looked up.

  4)     My brother is out.

4)     Adverbs of manner (which show how or in what manner)

   1)     Govind reads clearly.

   2)    This story is well written.

   3)     The child slept soundly.

   4)     You should not do so.

5)     adverbs of degree or Quantity (which show how much or in what degree or to we extent)

  1)     He was too careless.

  2)     These mangoes are almost ripe.

  3)     I am fully prepared.

  4)     The sea is very stormy.

  5)     I am so glad.

6)     Adverbs of affirmation and negation.

  1)     surely you are mistaken.

  2)    He certainly went.

  3)     I do not know him.

7)     Adverbs of reason

  1)     He is hence unable to refute the charge.

  2)     He therefore left school.
